Dearest Alanis
Why? Why did you record a cover of "Crazy"? You're talented. You're accomplished. You're transcendent as a musical artist. WHY did you do this?
You're not Tiffany. You're even better than Gwen Stefani! I demand an explanation...
If you're going to cover this song, do it in concert and let people pass it around on bootleg mp3s on the internet...don't deliberately go into a studio and record it!
It's as if you needed another song for your latest album and some intern re-mixed the music track and you just came in and sang it...exactly like Seal.
If you want to cover something again, pick a B side cut that never made a ripple on the airwaves like some obscure but good Fine Young Cannibals tune, and make it your own.
Alanis, please help me overlook this...tell me you were depressed or on cold medication...anything to help repair the goddess image I have carried with me in my mind all these years...
I think I said too much just then...

dear muffindale-
"crazy' is one of my favorite songs of all time. it's simply amazing. and when i was approached to do a compilation album of songs i have recorded for special projects like soundtracks, live reocrdings or benefits but had never been made available in a single collection, i decided to record it as a bonus. you know, to attract the "completeists" among my fanbase.
while some may argue it's not the most original cover, i feel it is still a good tribute. if you think it feels rushed and thrown together, i truly apologize. just know that i am busy at work on a new album and sincerely hope that you will enjoy it as much as i have.
thanks for your input and concern.
peace oot.

Dearest Alanis,
Thanks for your quick response, eh. I hope you understand, I've been really busy and couldn't reply as quickly as I wanted to.
Um, why are you singing a tribute to Seal? Did he die? I can only think of one other song by Seal that did anything and it was that tune from Batman. Tribute someone else...someone at least as half as good as you. It's not that your version is bad musically, it's just practically the same except the synth background is worse than Seal's version.
Best of luck on your newest album, I look forward to getting it along with my Tall Decaf Mocha Latte at Starbucks.
I totally agree about ALANIS, but since she is stooping so low, I have to say that Gwen is a step above her. Alanis is desperate for a hit and the spotlight. She needs cash so bad that she even released an acoustic version of her biggest album. STOP RE-RELEASING OLD STUFF!! Grow up!!
