American (M)idol

We're back with a new post! Sorry for the hiatus...

I was listening to the radio the other day while I was painting and this song came on and it was rockin. I mean it was a really good song. Good lyrics, good upbeat tempo, good singing, good instrumentation. It was really very good. I was even thinking, I might go get this CD it's so good. Then, after the song, the DJ lowers the boom...

"that was the latest from KELLY CLARKSON."

I have never, not once, watched the show called American Idol, but I still know her name from like 3 years ago because of all the media coverage, etc.

As far as musical conflicts go, this is up there, maybe even more severe than the problem of...do I like this band and listen to their awesome music even though it spouts ideas I'm against (namely, Live)

What am I supposed to do now? Whenever I hear it come on the radio, I want to change the station, but a lot of times, I can't. I want to hear this song (I think it's called 'Since You've Been Gone') but isn't it inherently wrong to subject my superior auditory organs to such noise pollution?
